cut copy tour dates, cut copy albums, the free music blogCut copy are set to return in 2008 with the shimmering timelessness of ‘in ghost colours’. Haunted with machines of the past and sounds of the future, ‘in ghost colours’ inhabits the kind of space in time where trends are irrelevant and music is about feeling rather than following and 1969 is just as relevant as 2020. At once both jacking and jangly, electronic and organic, cut copy have crafted a record filled with glorious sounds and moods but also unabashedly pop song structures and hooks and melodies for eons. The progression from ‘bright like neon love’ to ‘in ghost colours’ is brazenly apparent from opening track ‘feel the love’, an acoustic guitar led stomp of a space rock tune, instantly unforgettable and with recognizable cut copy sheen. Where ‘bright like neon love’ was charmingly vague and hazy, ‘in ghost colours’ is to the point and efficient in it’s songcraft, with vocals much more apparent and whitford’s imprint all over every track. The record is sewn together with passages of woozy dreamscapes between the straight out jams.

by admin on March 4, 2011

ratatat LP4 album review, LP4 ratatat covers, ratatat tourRatatat’s new album LP4 is the next step forward on the work that Evan Mast and Mike Stroud began on LP3. It was conceived during the creative streak that began during the LP3 sessions at Old Soul studios, in rural Upstate New York. Since then the band have toured relentlessly; visiting countries such as Vietnam, China and Cambodia on the one hand, and selling out bigger venues than ever before on the other.

Free Download – TV On The Radio

by admin on February 28, 2011

dear science free download, tv on the radio download links, free music site“A lot of bands have something to say,” explains TV On The Radio producer/multi-instrumentalist David Sitek. “We have something to ask.”

Indeed. Good luck finding easy answers in TVOTR’s ever-evolving soundscapes, though, whether we’re talking about their new disc, Dear Science (DGC/Interscope) or the band’s early days. When guitarist/vocalist Kyp Malone joined, he didn’t even get what Sitek and vocalist Tunde Adebimpe were going for on their self-released 2002 debut, OK Calculator.

“Aspects of OK Calculator are genius,” says Malone, “but it isn’t as laser-focused as Young Liars.” Neither were Adebimpe and Sitek’s early live sets, boundless and brash bits of performance art that Malone remembers as “an open mic/karaoke night gone awry. I could hear songs peeking through it all but it wasn’t really my thing.”

Boy did that change in 2003, as Young Liars became Malone’s favorite CD-R (he’d often play it for the latte sippers at a local coffee shop) and the group’s first Touch & Go release. An immediate favorite among critics, the EP nailed Sitek’s goal of sounding like a “grand four-track thing,” from the epic, evocative balladry of “Blind” to the spectral pop trails of “Staring At the Sun.” To make things even more interesting, Malone dropped his skepticism and joined the group full-time before Young Liars’ official release, with drummer Jaleel Bunton and bassist Gerard Smith rounding out the band’s rhythm section soon after.

“We had a gig in Iceland where we needed a full band so we asked the two best guitar players we knew, Gerard and Jaleel, to play drums and bass,” explains Sitek, laughing. “It’s absurd that Kyp and I are even holding a guitar when Jaleel and Gerard are f**king bananas at playing it.”

While that may be true, TV On The Radio’s loose approach to songwriting, recording and performing leaves an incredible amount of room for instrument-swapping and role reversals. Rather than rely on a stringent and stale guitars/bass/drums/vocals setup, the quintet often brings home-demoed sketches to the studio along with the attitude that a track needs to go through everyone’s filter before it becomes a fully formed song.

Free Download – Ra Ra Riot – The Orchard

by admin on February 24, 2011

The Free Music Blog, Download Music Online Fore Free, Rapidshare Music LinksIt’s a record that knows that the best way to start an album is not a rookie move like throwing out your best song or first single, but to kick things off with a track that announces a new, determined direction instead. “The Orchard” is just that song, floating along ominous string chords and a pensive bass line without a hint of drums or guitar. The focus is purely on Miles, who sounds like a markedly more assured vocalist throughout the record and never as clearly as he does on “The Orchard.” The strings at the forefront is something repeated throughout the album, from the way they add a melancholy note to the otherwise upbeat “Boy” to the way they arch and dip across melodies, putting their indelible stamp on songs like “Do You Remember” and “Kansai.” The fact that Zeller and Lawn are the centerpiece of songs rather than a touch of color here or a flourish there makes The Orchard everything The Rhumb Line hinted at but never accomplished: the sound of a complete and full band, utilizing an array of sound and talents in a more organic way than many of their peers.

Free Download – Adele – 21

by admin on February 15, 2011

adele 21 the free music blog, listen to adele 19 21 online, adele album art21 is the eagerly awaited sophomore album from British singer-songwriter Adele. It’s the follow up to Adele’s critically acclaimed, Grammy award winning debut album 19 (both named after her age at the time the songs were written). Recorded in Malibu and London, 21 offered Adele the opportunity to work with such luminary producers and songwriters as Rick Rubin, Paul Epworth, Ryan Tedder, Dan Wilson and Fraser T. Smith, as well as continuing to work with Francis “Eg” White and Jim Abbiss.

This new collection of songs showcases the growth of this incredible artist, who at the very young age of twenty two, exhibits the poise of a seasoned veteran. Adele’s music takes some new direction while staying true to her signature style. “I discovered lots of artists I’d never heard of, particularly Wanda Jackson, Allison Krauss, Yvonne Fair, Andrew Bird, Neko Case, Lady Antebellum and Steel Drivers who I fell in love with. Then I delved in to more from artists I’ve loved forever – Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, Elbow, Mos Def, Alanis Morissette, Tom Waits and Sinead O’Connor. There’s something in every single one of these artists that have really really inspired 21.”

She soon signed with Streamline Records, an imprint of Interscope Records. During her early time at Interscope, she worked as a songwriter for fellow label artists and captured the attention of Akon, who recognized her vocal abilities, and signed her to his own label, Kon Live Distribution.

Gaga came to prominence following the release of her debut studio album The Fame (2008), which was a commercial success and achieved international popularity with the singles “Just Dance” and “Poker Face”. free music blog, listen to ghostland observatory online for free

Ghostland Observatory is an American music duo based in Austin, Texas. Their music has been described as a combination of electro, rock and funk by Allmusic,[1] and “electro-dance soul rock” by Gothamist.[2]

Front man Aaron Behrens provides vocals in addition to occasionally playing the guitar. Thomas Ross Turner plays the drums or synthesizer.

The band released their first full-length album, delete.delete.i.eat.meat, in 2005 on Turner’s Trashy Moped Recordings. They also released their second CD, Paparazzi Lightning, on the same label in January 2006. On October 16, 2007, they made their national television debut on NBC’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien, performing the song “Sad Sad City”. They appeared on Austin City Limits in 2007, and released their first live DVD, Live from Austin, TX on November 13, 2007. In a video shot at the Vegoose Music Festival, they announced their album Robotique Majestique, later released on March 4, 2008.[3] On December 26, 2007, Austin newspaper, the Austin American-Statesman, announced Ghostland Observatory as their band of the year.[4] They have also performed at the Austin City Limits Music Festival, in Austin, TX, and Voodoo Fest in New Orleans, LA.

October 26, 2010 saw the release Ghostland Observatory’s fourth album, Codename: Rondo, which was introduced with a show at the Cedar Park Center, in Texas, on October 28, 2010. At that time they took the laser show to another level, having 16 lasers and a sophisticated assemblage of mirrors scattered around the stage to produce visual effects in real time usually only seen in movies. Codename: Rondo seems to take a turn from their previous material. The band continues to provide exciting and visually stimulating live performances.

Free Download – The Weepies – Be My Thrill

by admin on February 2, 2011

The Free Music Blog, Download Music For Free, Music Link SiteDeb Talan and Steve Tannen have been playing a delightful brand of folk-pop since 2001, when they met in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Today they’re married, have two young sons, and live in Southern California. Apparently their family life is every bit as filled with joy as the sunny, low-key, occasionally pensive, irresistably melodic tunes they create in their home studio.

For their fifth album, “Be My Thrill,” the duo writes and sings about love: of each other, of children, of dancing, of first love, of lost love, of the moments in life that you treasure. The songs are kid-friendly and are packed with hooks and sublime harmonies. Life is good.

If relentlessly cheerful people get on your nerves, The Weepies are not for you. But if you’re down and need a lift, these songs will bring you up. For me at least, the Weepies have a warm and fuzzy effect that is antithetical to the one their name suggests.
